Our established client is a leading name within the water treatment industry. They are well-known for delivering a wide range of water hygiene and legionella services to clints throughout the UK. They currently have an opportunity for a professional Water Hygiene Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be based in or around the Newcastle area and will have previous experience undertaking water hygiene duties including routine temperature checks and water sampling as well as cleaning/chlorination on hot and cold water systems. Applications from Consett, Sunderland, Barnard Castle, Darlington and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Experience & Qualifications:

Must come from a good educational, water hygiene/legionella, chemical and technical background.
Must be fully conversant with the ACOP L8 guidelines.
Previous hands on experience delivering water hygiene duties to a varied site base.
Previous experience undertaking remedial plumbing duties will be beneficial to this role.
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient IT skills including competency in using Microsoft Office.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out disinfection of mains water systems, tank cleans and descales, replacing tanks, remedial work, flushing systems, water softeners, etc.
Monitoring client's air and water systems and ensuring that they comply with the current Health and Safety legislation.
Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold-water systems and cooling towers.
Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
Interpreting the results and maintaining and installing dosing systems, etc.
Providing accurate reports and maintaining paperwork.
Building and maintaining a good rapport with the clients.
Carrying out plumbing work as and when required.

Overall the successful applicant will be commercially focused, flexible and reliable and have the ability to work independently and under pressure and must be prepared to travel to designated sites as per client's requirement.
