The client, a long established and rewarding charity based in Chester are seeking a Caf?? Manager to oversee daily operations in the Caf?? and Charity Shop.

You will effectively manage the day to day running of the caf??, shop and volunteers, with the aim of turning the cafe into a favourite local spot which allows the charity to increase the visibility of what they do to support the homeless and refugee community.

* Ensure that all food hygiene and health and safety is managed appropriately

* Create menus

* Prepare food and drink orders to a high standard

* Manage the pricing strategy across the caf?? and shop, reviewing and adapting as necessary to drive sales

* Make sure the shop is stocked and items (including the windows) are rotated on a weekly basis and merchandised in an attractive manner

* Contribute towards the design and implementation of the shop's marketing strategy, forward planning for events and sales periods

* Order stock for the caf?? (cups, coffees, cold drinks, cakes, etc)

* Manage clearance of rubbish, un saleable clothing (rags) on a regular basis using agreed contractor

* Provide excellent customer care through quality of service and dealing with any complaint timely and effectively

• Volunteers:

* Recruit and retain shop volunteers

* Coordinate shop volunteers rota and their daily tasks

* Provide an induction to each new shop volunteer and provide timely feedback to all shop volunteers

* Make sure all shop volunteers are aware of what the charity does and are able to explain this to customers

* Identify training needs for the shop volunteers and make sure the shop volunteers attend the requested/appropriate training

* Develop the volunteer journey and ensure all volunteers are fully engaged with the charity mission and values

* To be aware of policies and ensure that these are implemented

* Maintain contact details of all shop volunteers

* Report to the trustees on a monthly basis on volunteers hours, sales trend and 'as & when' on any specific issue

* Utilise volunteers appropriately within the shop by delegating tasks where appropriate (cashing up, pricing, steaming, etc)

* Lead regular team meetings, reporting back on key issues and questions raised

The role will undertake hours of approximately 31 hours per week, ideally Tuesday to Saturday (10.00a.m-4.00p.m (5.00p.m on Saturday) but you will also occasionally cover holiday requirements when required at other times.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
