An exciting opportunity has come up in a new vibrant residential service based in Weeley Heath, just on the outskirts of Clacton with great access to public transport. It is a unique service that has been co-produced to meet the needs of young people aged 18-25, with Autism and complex needs, embarking on their journey to independence. The service will be providing support to four individuals living together.

Health & Social Care NVQ 3 or above.
2 years recent and significant experience of working with adults with Learning disabilities
Ability to communicate to range of people using different communication methods.
Ability to deal effectively in crises/emergencies.
Ability to develop and promote positive working relationships with individual's being supported, their carers and professional colleagues.
Ability to work under pressure while recognising it in self and others.
Able to work flexibly, e.g. - working a weekend rota with other managers.The Deputy Manager role involves:

The post requires the holder to do varying shifts, which include early and late shifts. The post holder is required to work weekends as part of a rota and bank holidays when required.
To provide a needs led service to adults with a learning disability by adopting a person centered approach that fosters self awareness, personal growth and gives each person the strongest voice with regards to decision making and lifestyle choices.
To support the Registered Manager in the day to day management and administration responsibilities for a group of identified services within Supported Living - North East Essex.
To ensure all aspects of the Management of the Service meet with the National Care Standards Act 2000 and the requirements of CQC, together with all other relative legislative requirements.
To undertake such duties and responsibilities reasonably consistent with the role as may be required from time to time by the Registered Manager.
Develop a positive working environment which nurtures and rewards good practice through a programme of training and development.
Take part/lead a range of meetings including service user and Team Leader meetings and staff meetings.
Ensure staff adhere to the GCSS Codes of Practice and rules, policies and procedures contained in the Staff Handbook.
Ensure processes are in place and adhered to in line with the requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Take responsibility for areas of development or leadership as directed by the registered manager.
Ensure staff work and comply with financial systems in line with company policies, procedures and guidelines.
To attend service user reviews as designated by the registered manager.
Taking part in the recruitment, selection and development of staff for your designated group of services.
To evaluate the risks of, and to protect Service Users from threats to their health, welfare and normal developments from inside and outside the Care Service.
Maintaining close contact with families/carers as appropriate, with the consent of the individuals being supported in the service.
