Higgidy are purveyors of some of the finest pies, quiches and sausage rolls around (even if we do say so ourselves!). From our humble roots as a small family business founded by husband, wife and their best friend (who are all still in the business today) we've grown steadily over the last twelve years and now boast a team of 325 permanent staff.
We are now looking for a Samples Assistant to join our NPD team for 20 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 10am to 2pm (GBP9.55 per hour).
The Samples Assistant will:
* Manage repeat specially made sample request procedure end to end (including sample collection and despatch to the customer).
* Liaise with marketing on mock up packaging.
* Manage repeat customer sample requests, sample collection and despatch to the customer.
* Liaise with marketing on packaging for specially made samples.
* Assist Development Technologist and Culinary Chef with product remakes as required.
* Collect raw materials and packaging to keep the kitchen well stocked.
* Ensure all ingredients are labelled with traceability.
* Practice clean as you go.
* Ensure kitchen meets GMP & HACCP standards through liaising with technical and maintenance as required.
* Update Sage system & other relevant paperwork in a timely fashion.
* Input data into competitor gap analysis sheets and record feedback from kitchen panels.
* Occasional shopping for ingredients and benchmarks.
* Log new raw materials entering the kitchen onto the tracker.
We would love our next Samples Assistant to have:
* A passion for food.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage own workload.
* Able to cope with pressure and work to tight deadlines.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Great attention to detail.
* Experience with Microsoft Office.
We'd love it if you also had your Level 2 certificate in Food Safety & Hygiene, but it's not a deal breaker if you don't!
