Our client is a Portsmouth based manufacturing company specialising in the innovative design and production of electrical / electronic components. Their products are distributed worldwide through their network of partners in Europe, Asia and the US and telecommunications.
As a business the company undertakes processes from product/machine design through tooling, moulding, stamping, turning and electro-plating into robotic and automated assembly, packing and despatch. Designing and building their own production equipment adds a further layer of complexity to their engineering & manufacturing processes. This role is based in their dedicated, highly automated production facility within a small friendly team.
THE ROLE
This is a pivotal position within their organisation that requires high attention to detail with a through and methodical approach to role.
Reporting to the Technical Centre Lead, your role will be:
Run the finishing process for the Autoshop
Operate and maintain the Pero machine in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Quality check number of parts produced in accordance with invoiced requirements
Conduct technical inspections of finished parts. This includes visual inspection and SPC inspection in line with technical drawing, paying attention to tolerances and notifying supervisor if identifying any non-conformant parts.
FOD prevention
Maintenance of machines including daily maintenance tasks (temperature checking), weekly distilling process and bi-weekly chemical analysis.
All maintenance readings are to be logged on the appropriate portals and corrective action taken if needed.
During down time there maybe requirements to conduct additional tasks
The successful candidate will have a proven ability to inspect and identify non conformant parts. Have a keen eye for detail and be able to run multiple inspection processes at the same time. There may be an opportunity to take on additional tasks once an efficient and timely process has been established.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Proficient with computer and information technology
An understanding of manufacturing processes
