Our clients are an established manufacturing company based in Hastings. They are currently seeking Trainee SMT Engineers to join their busy team.
The ideal candidate will possess a basic knowledge of electronics and engineering, be a competent user of PCs and be able to read and understand basic customer drawings and data sheets.
As a Trainee SMT Engineer you will be working shadowing one of the senior engineers, training on using PC controlled machines, placing and soldering small components onto printed circuit boards as well as running production batches of assemblies.
The Ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:
* Basic knowledge of electronics and engineering
* Be competent in the use of PC's
* Working knowledge of Windows XP would be useful
* Good background in Maths
* Be able to read and understand basic customer drawings and data sheets
* Ability to work confidently on their own once trained
* Be a strong team player
Your duties as a Trainee SMT Engineer would be:
* Train under supervision using PC controlled machines
* Placing and soldering small components onto printed circuit boards
* Running production batches of assemblies
* Understanding and using Bills of materials/part lists
* Loading components onto feeders
* Routine machine maintenance
* Electronic and manual document control
Salary:
* GBP6.56 per hour (18 - 20 year olds)
* GBP8.36 per hour (21 - 22 years old)
* GBP8.91 per hour (23 and over)
Hours:
* Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm
* Friday: 7.30am - 1.30pm
* Temp - Perm Position
