A global leader in high quality, safety-critical products is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer for their specialist design team. The ideal candidate will be focused on implementing new ideas, improving quality and new product design for high volume manufacture.

3D Mechanical design engineer in a highly regulated design and manufacturing environment. Working in a small design team the ideal candidate will be focused on implementing new ideas, improving quality and new product design for high volume manufacture.
A typical working day will be 50% design, 30% reviewing documentation and 20% product support and continuous improvement
Essential Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer
* 3D CAD modelling experience (SolidWorks or SolidEdge or Pro-Engineer / Creo etc)
* Ambitious mechanical design engineer with a proven background implementing new ideas and improvements
* Degree of HNC/HND in mechanical design engineering related field
* A strong focus on quality, attention to detail and optimisation of design before manufacture (FEA or CFD or DFMEAs)
Nice to Have Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer
* Injection moulding tool design
* Experience in a high volume manufacturing
* Knowledge of polymers and their properties
* Experienced in highly regulated environments or improving environmental credentials of manufactured products
* Electro-mechanical packaging experience (PCBs, wiring, electronics etc in plastic housing)
