Technical Support Engineer
The Company
A market-leading engineering company.
The Role
Reporting to and tasked by the Technical Support Lead and working closely with our Field Operations and Parts & Logistics teams the Technical Support Engineer will provide technically focussed support services related to my clients sold equipment, parts and services related to both our customers and internally.
Duties
* Provide competent, attentive, and timely technical support to both customers and other company employees. This will be a mixture of remote (online/phone) and face to face support.
* Attend customer sites to perform technical interventions as and when required.
* Daily updating of technical support jobs on our service management system.
* Generating technical reports.
* Take care of the day to day care of site work equipment e.g. receive and prepare for shipping, perform regular inspections, safety tests, cleaning, make repairs and identify the need for replacement parts and calibration.
* Provide cover for the technical helpdesk as and when requested by the Technical Support Lead.
* Creation of risk assessments.
* Proactively perform day to day activities required to ensure the best upkeep of the technical Centre (e.g. check operation/condition of equipment, prepare for engineering/testing works, maintain tidiness, etc.
The Candidate
An engineering or science qualification (HND or Degree) would be expected
Must understand controls technology, basic mechanical engineering and or electrical engineering
Excellent time management and organisation skills
Excellent written and spoken English & communication skills
Personable & well presented
Flexibility to travel throughout UK
Hold a clean driving license
Exceptional customer service skills
High attention to detail
The Package
The salary offered for this position is GBP22,000- GBP30,000 pa to a candidate that can meet all key qualifications and abilities
