A well established system integration company that's core business is the design; manufacture and commissioning of integrated drive and control systems incorporating servo and variable speed drives, and PLC's, are recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer. They have a wide experience and application knowledge in industries including food, metals, marine, rubber, plastics, paper, transportation, materials handling and general manufacturing.
The Senior Project Engineer will work alongside and support the executive team in all activities that fall into the area of control engineering and they will report into the Chief Engineer.
Main Responsibilities
Responsible for project management, product selection, planning and budgetary matters in addition to detail design, the Senior Project Engineer will often be the first point of contact for the customer and as such there is a requirement for good commercial and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar environment and good knowledge of drives, PLCs and HMI products.
• Take controls of major projects from start to finish and delegate tasks accordingly
• Conceptual design of integrated process systems
• Preparing detailed cost estimates and outline specifications
• Writing detailed functional design specifications
• Design of system architecture, network connections and interfaces primarily Ethernet, Devicenet, Profibus and Modbus
• Production of PLC software (Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Siemens)
• Production of HMI software
• Site installation and commissioning
Experience / Knowledge Required
• Motion Control
• Hardware / Software experience
• PLC and HMI experience
• Drives (Servo, VFD's etc)
This company offers an excellent remuneration package which includes a car, up to 10% bonus (basic salary), a company pension scheme, 25 day holiday and a starting salary of up to GBP65000 for the right applicant.
