The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Southwark Council's Adult Social Care Division (ASC) and become the Occupational Therapy: Community Equipment Lead.
This is a unique role that supports a system wide approach across Health and Social Care to ensure the appropriate and cost effective prescription of assistive equipment and minor adaptations and ensuring excellence in this practice area.
You will be responsible for embedding evidence based decision making for equipment provision and integral to this role is joint working with acute hospital colleagues, as well as a range of community health and social care professionals prescribing community equipment.
About You:
We are looking to appoint a dynamic, driven, innovative and forward thinking Occupational Therapist to join our new service; under the direct supervision of the Principal Occupational Therapist.
Outstanding communication, problem solving, and clinical reasoning skills are vital for the success of this role.
As an autonomous therapist, you will be expected to hold a small caseload of complex cases, have extensive knowledge of community equipment and its application in supporting people to remain in the community, maintain engagement in purposeful activities and occupational pursuits
You will need to be a qualified Occupational Therapist with extensive community equipment experience
The contract is full time (36 hours) and a permanent role
