We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Manager to join our team based in Donington Park Circuit. Joining on a full time, permanent basis.

Who are we?

We are SuperBike Factory, Europe's largest used motorbike retailer, and we have just signed a long-term lease at Donington Park circuit. What once was the Donington Grand Prix Collection museum is about to be transformed into a true Mecca for fans of motorcycling and their families.

The site is going through a comprehensive refurbishment programme, which will result in an opening this summer, with 1,000 motorbikes available to purchase, together with accessories to browse and an onsite caf??.

The existing 100,000 sq. ft Cheshire master site, with more than 1,300 bikes, a visible workshop area and comprehensive accessories shop, established SuperBike Factory as Europe's largest motorbike retailer. The addition of this impressive second site at Donington firmly establishes the company as the 'go to' location when looking to buy, sell, part-exchange, or finance a motorbike.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a leading company where you will be leading a team of mechanics in a fast moving and busy automotive workshop. As a Workshop Manager you will be have a genuine passion for all things 2 wheels and will be keen to share this enthusiasm with your team.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare, plan and manage the workshop productivity and objectives.
  • Manage a large team of Motorbike Mechanics/Technicians by setting targets and providing regular feedback and coaching.
  • Managing all servicing, maintenance and repair work of motorcycles on a daily basis in accordance with manufacturers specifications.
  • Supporting your team, providing mechanical advice and expertise when required.
  • Motivate and develop staff through controlled delegation to achieve department goals.
  • Contribute towards the continuous improvement of processes/methods and operating practices.
  • Undertake departmental/resource planning.
  • Liaising with the Sales department ensuring the workshop is fully maximised.
  • Working closely with heads of departments and stakeholders to achieve management targets.
  • Continuous improvement of processes and people.
  • Responsible for the recruitment of Workshop team members.
  • Actively follow and promote the company vision.
  • Adhering to all Health & Safety regulations.

Role Requirements andDesirables

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. We will also consider candidates that have a minimum of 3 years mechanical experience, either Automotive or motorcycle.
  • Previous experience of running a busy workshop within the motorcycle industry.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good management skills.
  • The skills to motivate, coach and lead a team.
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to deal with staff issues.
  • The ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Be a committed individual with a flexible attitude and strong work ethic.
  • You must hold a Full UK motorcycle & car license.
