This is a super exciting opportunity for a creative product designer to join a successful online retailer of high spec, trend-led licenced products. You will lead the in-house Design Department and work closely with an existing network of freelance talent. You should have experience across hard goods and apparel design and development, sourcing and selecting trim and fabrics fit for purpose and managing approvals and testing. Graphic design skills are and advantage as is a passion for all thing fantasy, comic & geek.
Senior Product Designer - The role
* Research, identify and translate current pop culture, movies, TV, videogame trends alongside fashion & lifestyle trends.
* Design and development of commercial licenced ranges across fashion and home accessories and apparel
* Produce accurate and detailed sketches and tech packs for the suppliers
* Manage licensor submission and approvals, ensuring design aesthetic is trend relevant and true to brand
* Brief junior and freelance designers and manage workloads across the department
* Liaise with suppliers and factories and oversee developments
* Have a good knowledge of technical product and materials across hard goods, metals, plastics and apparel.
* Computer literate with exceptional CAD skills
* Present in customer meetings
* Able to travel as required
Senior Product Designer - The candidate
* You will be creative and innovative
* Have excellent design skills
* Be able to produce quality designs consistently
* Have a desire to produce best in class designs
* Have effective supervisory and organisational skills
* Be able to communicate well in written and oral forms
* Have excellent Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills
* Have a passion for geek brands such as Marvel, Star Wars, DC, Zelda etc
