We have a fantastic opening for a full time Senior Housing Support Worker to join our team and provide housing support to our customers at Avalon Court - an extra care service in Ipswich.

This is an exciting time to join Notting Hill Genesis and we are recruiting several roles at Avalon Court. The primary focus of our services is to support customers in a range of areas, including improving independent life skills, quality of life and building stability through a range of social activities.

You'll be personally committed to delivering services of the highest quality and be able to demonstrate your experience in either housing management or working with vulnerable people. You will ensure that our homes are well-managed, with minimised voids, maximised income, and above all offer positive environments for our residents.

You will play a key role in selecting and recruiting, managing and supervising staff, volunteers and apprentices in line with our corporate policies and procedures, also ensuring staff have appropriate training. You'll assess the quality of customer support plans, identify and address concerns where plans do not meet standards or are not demonstrably customer led. You'll contribute to a positive and continuously improving work environment: recognise customers as drivers of quality and performance.

Located at our Avalon Court service in Stoke Quays, the Senior Housing Support Worker will be responsible for leading a team of 3 Support Workers, delivering person centered service. The primary focus of our schemes is to support clients in a range of areas, including finding employment, recovery from addiction, and building stability through a range of social activities. A successful outcome is achieved when our customers can move on to more suitable long-term accommodation, appropriate to their needs.

To be successful, we'll need your experience in providing support to customers with needs similar to the service's remit, as well as knowledge and understanding of the particular needs of the customer group. You will use your professional approach to develop and maintain trusting relationships with colleagues, customers and their families. We trust you'll be able to maintain sensitive information appropriately and be able to apply relevant legislation, policy and best practice.

Previous experience working with vulnerable adults is essential for this role, as you will be supporting people that can display challenging behaviour. You will be required to lone work and use your own initiative which will need a strong willed and confident individual.

You will work 39 hours a week, over a Rota basis. You will be required to work some weekends.

The appointed candidate will join on the starting salary which will increase to GBP23,682 after successful completion of probation.
