So, what will I be doing?

As a Maintenance Engineer you will be joining the Engineering team in an established, distinctive and ambitious food manufacturing company that is committed to making great British dairy the right way. Forever. You'll be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative and reactive maintenance, ensuring the smooth operation of machinery, plant equipment and production overall at our Newton Abbot site.

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off nights (6pm until 6am) 12 hours shifts

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out both planned preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery and plant across the site in Newton Abbot, recommending improvements to systems and content to improve on the value added detail for the new Reliability Centred Maintenance System.
  • Minimising down time and fault finding on a range of machinery in a fast paced and large scale manufacturing environment. Identifying and shaping improvements to eradicate repeat faults.
  • Assisting with root cause analysis, continuous improvement and general daily operational efficiencies to improve on engineering key performance indicators (KPI's).
  • Assisting with project work as and when required including the introduction of new plant and equipment, both commissioning and delivering a project from start to end.

Sounds interesting, what do I need?

  • Experience of working as a Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment with understanding of process manufacture, mechanical and electrical systems, machining, Tig welding, site services knowledge, refrigeration, steam generation, Pneumatic control systems.(Festo, SMC)
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and showing best working practices within in an engineering manufacturing environment, Food safety knowledge within an engineering role.
  • Ideally you will have worked in food manufacturing or FMCG production environments previously.
  • Preferably multi-skilled with an electrical bias).
  • PLC experience and diagnostics, servo drive and control systems, using Bosch Indra drive, Allan Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi in particular.
