We are looking for a Leeds United Trending Writer for our daily newspaper and website, the Yorkshire Evening Post.

This is an exciting time for the title which has undergone a series of big changes in the last few weeks - from a rebranded masthead right through to having its own team of dedicated reporters - one of the biggest investments in journalism in Leeds charged with championing and campaigning on behalf of the city.

And it's an equally exciting time for our Premier League team, who secured a top half of the table finish after their first season back in the top flight of English football after 16 years.

We want someone who understands just how important Leeds United is to the fabric of our city as well as the readers of the Yorkshire Evening Post.

This mighty club and its army of passionate supporters have waited long enough for its triumphant return - and we need someone who can truly do it justice.

The successful candidate will live and breathe all things Leeds United and, as such, be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the history of the club, the trials and tribulations down the years, its legendary players and managers and comprehensive knowledge of the club in its current form as well as its recent successes on the road back to the Premier League.

This trainee role will be the first step on the journalism ladder in our newsroom for many candidates.

If appointed, the successful candidate will work alongside our dedicated football writers to help make sure the YEP remains the go-to place for trusted Leeds United news.

We need someone who can spot a trending story and quickly turn it around to tap into what our audiences are talking about online both on and off the field for the club.

The successful trainee will have a keen eye for a story and a knowledge of what drives audiences, along with a natural understanding of SEO and awareness of what makes great digital content.

You'll be in tune with analytics, identify trends and come up with original content ideas as well as having an understanding of how to optimise stories for search against a daily content plan.

We're looking for a team player who is passionate about Leeds, our Premier League team and the Yorkshire Evening Post. Closing date for applications is Monday, June 14.
