Our specialist engineering and construction teams bring multi-sector innovation and technical skill - from building and highways, to large-scale water networks and treatment plants.

Through our unique offering, providing services from feasibility and design, to construction and handover, our Water business provides 'Full Asset Lifecycle Thinking' across our projects, in both the clean and wastewater environments. Always ensuring we are supporting our customers with innovative outcome-based solutions and an exceptional experience. We currently deliver infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects for 10 of the largest national water sector companies.

We are looking to recruit a Paralegal based out of our Normanton office.

What you'll be doing day to day

  • Provide day-to-day support to a Solicitor/Mediator
  • Carry out office administration, including writing letters, reviewing contracts and drafting reports
  • Supporting the project teams
  • Organise diaries, schedule meetings and respond to telephone queries
  • Write first document drafts and proofread documents
  • Analyse and input data, write articles for internal or external circulation
  • Organise case files, attend related meetings, transcribe legal opinion and compile litigation bundles
  • Network with internal clients and build valuable relationships
  • Write reports, conduct legal research, take witness statements and attend meetings with experts or internal clients

The experience we're looking for in a candidate

  • Law Degree qualified
  • LPC qualification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks or caseloads
  • Good attention to detail to be able to carefully analyse files and data
  • Legal research skills and the desire to develop your understanding of the law
  • The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Office administrative skills for tasks such as filing, typing and letter writing
  • Good teamwork skills particularly when working with other and internal clients to complete tasks
  • Flexibility and adaptability in attitude and approach to work
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Business acumen and an ability to understand internal as well as external clients' needs
  • Professionalism when working with colleagues, experts and clients
  • Legal database experience, such as LexisNexis
