We are currently working with Derby City Council to recruit for an Information Governance Officer, working from home. The role is to assist in the process for dealing with requests for information in relation to data protection, freedom of information and environmental information regulations.
Responsibilities:
* Manage subject access requests in compliance with the statutory requirements of the Data Protection Act and provide advice and support to requestors.
* Manage requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act and the Environmental Information Regulations making sure the Council fully complies with all aspects of related legislation and guidance.
* Liaise with council officers, members and the press office regarding requests. Provide advice and guidance as required.
* Assist with appeals and complaints from the Information Commissioner's Office.
* Assist with the Council's responsibilities for open data and transparency as required e.g. liaising with services to collect information for publication.
* Contribute to the maintenance of the Council's FOI publication scheme and its conformance to current legislation.
* Advise on the management of records and retention policies in relation to compliance with FOI/EIR and open data requirements.
Hourly rate: GBP17.04
