Seven Education is currently looking for a SEN Learning Support Assistant for an established Primary school based in Basingstoke, Hampshire from 26 th April until 28 th May initially with potential to extend to the end of the academic year.
The role:
Provide support for the teacher and pupils working with an individual or groups in the classroom (and in the playground), ensuring pupils are kept on task and complete activities set by teachers.
Duties:
Deal with behavioural and special needs issues in conjunction with the teacher.
Help implement lesson plans to support for curriculum, assist with testing and assessment.
Detect signs of behavioural issues, work with outside health, social and enforcement agencies, maintain behaviour management standards of children.
Specialist responsibility (e.g., Speech Therapy) and support other staff in the school when help is needed in this area.
Must possess basic literacy and numeracy skills, good communication, professional, discrete, and aware of confidentiality protocol.
Be prepared to work in an environment which may require physical effort or strain) manual handling responsibilities), be firm, sensitive, and effective approach towards pupil discipline.
Applicant Requirements:
Qualifications: NVQ level 2 in SEN LSA.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience - trained to undertake very personal/intimate medical work for children with special needs, skilled in restraint techniques for dealing with difficult children.
Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK and Enhance DBS check.
Hours: 5 days a week but can be flexible to 2 days/morning only.
Pay: GBP10.70 - GBP12 per hour via umbrella pay
