About the team

This role is part of a place-based approach to transforming the private rented sector in Greater Manchester and is funded by the Nationwide Foundation. Shelter Manchester hosts the Development Manager (Project Management) role providing management and infrastructure support. The role sits within a broader team of advice and support staff, community fundraisers, community organisers specialist project teams, peers and volunteers will take responsibility for the final 18 months of the current TPRS Programme in Greater Manchester. Knowledge of Greater Manchester is required for this role, however as the role can be undertaken from home you don't necessarily have to live in Greater Manchester to apply.

About the role

Your challenge? To support the continued delivery of the Private Rented Sector (PRS) Partnership Board's Vision and Strategy, which will involve identifying and reporting on the challenges faced by both tenants and landlords through the development of co-produced solutions to accessing the PRS. You will disseminate best practice and learning from the funded projects through the Test and Learn grant and be involved in the continued development and implementation of a communication strategy. Developing strong relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and maintaining detailed knowledge of PRS strategies, services and market trends to ensure our approach reflects best practice and innovation are also essential aspects of this pivotal role.

About you

An experienced development manager who has evidenced their ability to challenge the status quo and influence system change, you will also possess a strong project management background and an understanding of housing, homelessness and the private rented sector in Greater Manchester. A proven record of managing strategic and operational relationships with a number of stakeholders is essential, as is substantial experience of managing complex projects using a range of project management tools and techniques. What's more, you will be an impressive communicator, verbal and written, with excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and IT skills, and the ability to develop new solutions to complex problems.
