MASS are looking for a Facilities Management Principal Mechanical Engineer to take pride in supporting a unique and important defence facility. You will be part of a small team of mechanical specialists delivering FM services to our knowledgeable and experienced client. You will have strong inter-personal and stakeholder management skills plus the capacity and skills to cover occasionally for the Facility Support Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical engineering Facilities Maintenance and ideally, will be an appointed Authorised Person although training will be provided if this is not already achieved.

The essential activities for this role are:

  • Implement and hold responsibility for the Facility Maintenance departments' mechanical Safe Systems of Work process for Mechanical systems.
  • Control the Mechanical Permit to Work process.
  • Control and maintain current Risk Assessments relevant to mechanical procedures.
  • Control and maintain current Method Statements relevant to mechanical procedures.
  • Control, review and update relevant mechanical Standing Operating Instructions.

You will routinely:

  • Supervise subordinate mechanical engineers providing mentorship and instruction.
  • Supervise the Building Management System, analysing control and monitoring information, to undertake and deliver facilities mechanical (occasionally electrical) engineering maintenance and repair.
  • Supervise and coordinate project work as directed by the Facility Support Manager.
  • Plan and cost with assistance minor projects (Additional Works).
  • To be available as required out of normal work hours (member of on-call roster).
  • Work a minimum of one maintenance weekend per month up to a maximum of 14 weekends per year.
  • Be proficient in office administrative and Microsoft Office skills.
