As a Senior Technician - Materials Processing and Battery assembly, your day-to-day responsibilities will consist of;

Working in a multi disciplined team of material scientist, electrochemists, mechanical and electronic engineers, your focus will be the hands-on assembly of components for cells.
Utilising the latest technologies from around the world to develop the next generation of batteries
Developing capabilities across a range of materials processing, cell assembly and characterisation techniques
Developing custom materials and components in cells, enabling the next generation of products
Using a combination of practical experience in manual and semi-automated assembly and materials processing alongside continuous improvement to carry out and optimise processes that provide prototype cells for testing
Being responsible for quality, from traceability to characterisation to advance materials and cell performance
Scaling materials from discovery to prototype cells, Utilising process insight and applied knowledge, facilitate new product introductions and transfer developed processes to manufacture
Being responsible for delivering operational and/or technical tasks and processes across a range of core operational activities across the engineering lifecycle
An exciting opportunity for an Experienced Senior Technician with the following:

Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a chemical, physics or engineering discipline relevant to assembly and battery manufacturing techniques.
Relevant industrial experience in an R&D environment. For example, a background in the battery, electronics, aerospace, assembly industries.
Practical experience of accurate and repetitive manual assembly with exceptional fine motor skills.
Practical experience of handling hazardous materials and use of protective equipment.
Problem solving, analytical with an attention to detail. An ability to identify, resolve or suggest solutions for material processing issues, providing examples of continuous improvement activity.
