Job responsibilities for Regional Sales Manager

  • Monitor sales activities through KPI's and sales results.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate the sales team through effective performance management, regular communication, direction, coaching, feedback, encouragement and review.
  • Drive pipeline management across the region, in particular making sure that sales pipelines are built, sales activity plans are developed and implemented, and 20 day planners are effectively used.
  • Proactively inspect the sales activity and efforts across the team, ensuring that the quality and quantity of sales effort meets the standard expected and achieves the desired results.
  • Develop and maintain the comprehensive customer databases and activity records.
  • Carry out regular staff 121's and annual performance appraisals, maintaining adequate records and addressing issues as necessary.
  • Identify business opportunities and potential customers within the region and follow through to the point of sale.
  • Conduct professional customer appointments to understand the requirements of the customer base to achieve sales targets.
  • Arrange and conduct product demonstrations.
  • Manage and monitor the successful handover of new business accounts to the Account Managers, liaising closely with Branch Managers, National Account Managers, and Regional Industrial Managers as required.
  • Manage the geographic area with regard travel planning and meetings; being mindful of effective time management and health & safety requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver regular sales reports ad participate in sales and corporate events as required.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market conditions, and product development, reporting/escalating key activity, developments and issues as necessary.
  • Ensure that processes and procedures are adhered to.
