A Master Production Scheduler / Planner is sought by a company in the Gateshead area

Working in a multi-process environment you will be responsible for ensuring timely and cost effective material planning, scheduling and inventory control aligning planning with inventory management activities with the company's production planning and inventory control strategy.

Day to day activities will include

  • Leading and managing all planning activities including works order creation, scheduling and planning controls best practice.
  • Develop and ensure availability of systems such as PFEP and S&OP are utilised in the continuous improvement of all planning activities
  • Ensure all production planning policies are consistent with the inventory control objectives of the Division and Corporation
  • Work closely with Divisional Supply Chain Manager to develop integrated production and supply chain strategies
  • Co-ordinate with the materials team to ensure component inventory is controlled and optimised to support production capacity planning and implement planning control systems that drive the Division towards key KPIs
  • Drive collaborative forecasting between departments and premier customers
  • Support internal and external audits as required
  • Review stock in line with planning schedules and Premier customers and adjust accordingly
  • Support professional development of all team members
  • Actively support and implement Lean principles

The successful candidate will have experience of managing a Master Production schedule and have experience of monitoring and analysing planning data to optimise production scheduling. You will also have experience of reporting data to develop and implement sustained continuous improvement plans and develop inventory & stock replenishment processes to minimise held inventory without detriment to customer service. You will also need experience of MRP / ERP systems and be able to ensure controls to minimise impact of Premium freight charges are in place and adhered to and plan supply and inventory to support transition of any Engineering changes
