We have an opportunity for a Trainee Goods Lift Installer to join our Southern Team. You will assist with the installation and commission all models of goods and service lifts in line with company Quality Assurance Procedures, and mentor Trainee Installers.
Candidates will be customer focused and adaptable with excellent written and verbal communication with advanced product knowledge, having the ability to fault find through to resolution.
The role is located in the South, however travel and overnight stays across all of the UK may be required. The working hours are x4 12 hour weekdays.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the collection of lift components, load and convey to site.
Attend site safety induction if provided.
Assist in carrying out general site safety check and risk assessment.
Liaise with site agent to confirm lift specification and installation procedure in line with Company Safety Method Statement.
Assist in checking to ensure compliance.
Assist in unloading lift components and distribute to appropriate floors.
Erection of structure.
Installation of guides.
Wiring of lift shaft.
Installation of lift car.
Fitting and setting of doors.
Lead an installation if required.
Leave lift installation in a clean and safe condition.
Liaise with builder regarding installation acceptance.
Complete documentation.
Obtain, load and convey to site.
Work alongside Commissioning Engineer to carry out commissioning in accordance with test procedure.
Carry out lubrication checks and complete Engineer's Planned Maintenance Report.
Conduct basic electrical fault finding if required.
Instruct user and demonstrate the safe operation and servicing of the lift equipment.
Qualifications:
Experience of working within the lift industry
Experience of mechanical and electrical installations
Experience of building site conditions
Experience of working within stringent H&S guidelines
Experience of lift installation practices
