Do you want to play a key role in making Hackney a great place for all young people to live, learn and work in and somewhere they can feel part of now and in the future?
Do you want to develop your management and leadership potential by working across the Council to make this happen?
If your answer is yes, then this role could be for you!
Hackney Young Futures was set up by Hackney Council two years ago as an independent commission, led by young people, to look at what life in the borough and services are like for young people and to look at changes that could be made. The Council is taking forward the solutions proposed and are looking for a management apprentice to play a critical role. This role is a two-year fixed-term contract, giving the successful candidate exposure to a range of frontline services and management experiences focused on delivering the legacy of the Young Futures Commission.
The role will focus on helping services across the Council and borough change the way they work so they are better geared towards young people / transform the way they engage with young people / deliver the solutions identified by the Commission. The management apprentice will also play a key role in involving other young people as advocates and champions of the legacy: working with other management trainees and the wide range of Council apprentices to develop champions of Young Futures who can help embed the ways of working/supporting the next phase of work to ensure it continues to be steered by young people.
We are looking for a talented, motivated and focused driven individual, who sees a career working in and for local government as inspiring and a way to make meaningful change for all young people.
The management trainee scheme aims to develop individuals who will act as effective change agents and enablers in a council and is designed to help individuals realise their leadership potential in a vibrant and rapidly changing sector.
