The starting salary for this position is GBP40,227 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

As a Senior Social Worker you will contribute to the delivery of multi-agency CAMHS for children and young people with complex mental health needs; bringing a social care perspective to the work of the CAMHS Community Teams.

Supporting and protecting children and young people with mental health difficulties and their families will be at the heart of all you do by providing a range of interventions including:

  • consultation
  • reflection
  • joint case working
  • participation in case reviews
  • assessment of need
  • mental health assessments
  • care planning and intervention
  • clinical supervision of CAMHS Senior Social Workers
  • ongoing service development
  • You will also attend statutory meetings in relation to cases where your involvement would be beneficial

You will use your excellent communication and engagement skills to ensure that the CAMHS Social Work service operates in a safe and efficient way, as part of the whole system of partnership and multi-agency working. Your commitment to partnership working will enable you to establish and promote key relationships.

This role is co-located across Children's Services and CAMHS Community Teams; delivering direct work to children and young people and their families. You will play a crucial role in maintaining effective communication between local area children's social care teams and CAMHS, using both CAMHS System One and Children's Services LCS

You will contribute to the development of reflective and systemic thinking within Children's Services, offering a mentoring role around the identification and appropriate treatment pathways for children experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties.

To be shortlisted for interview for this role, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Good communication & engagement skills
  • Evidence of effective partnership working
  • Delivering 1-1 therapeutic interventions to young people (therefore, a minimum of two years therapeutic intervention experience or training in this area will be required for this role)
  • Experience of supervising/line managing other staff
