Elevation Recruitment Group have a great opportunity for someone to join a leading business as a Shipping Operations Manager.

The role will take responsibility for logistical matters related to the logistics of raw materials to site, as well as the distribution of products to customers. The role will work closely with internal departments in a manufacturer / distributor. Externally the role will work closely with the freight forwarders, UK hauliers and courier services.

The successful applicant will have experience within this specialist area of logistics, being accountable to meet the customer delivery schedule.

Sales Order management (sales orders entered primarily by the Sales Managers)
Sending to dispatch for packing and organising dispatch (domestic and export) - logistics management
Invoicing
Applying for Export Licenses & organizing Certificates of Origin
General administration and filing
Raising Purchase Orders to Group entities (internal) as well as external suppliers
Reviewing purchase invoices (POs + logistics-related)
Keeping detailed up-to-date records on the status of the POs with expected delivery dates
Dealing with the weekly ready-at-suppliers list, collating sales instructions for shipping and advising product manufacturers of the same
Organising export/import and freight of goods from Company suppliers
Collating, negotiating and drafting frame agreements with freight forwarders & road freight companies
Monitoring and administering Company warehouses (2 in the UK, 1 in Australia) and consignment stocks (3-4 in the UK)
Organising the corporate inventory stock count twice a year (May/June & November/December) and managing the data into the ERP system
Compiling the monthly purchase & sales freight cost analysis sheet
Producing Halco weekly stock availability list and e-mailing to customers
Answering and/or organising all calls to the main office to be answered (not a massive task)

Generally, this person should be very much a hands-on manager keeping most of the day-to-day operations in order. The Sales Support resource would be carrying out several of the manual entry work and assisting this person - the key would be the ability to act as a back-up for the day-to-day routines on holidays, etc.
