SRG is currently working with a new, exciting biotechnology company, to support their search for an Experimental Physicist. They have developed a cell manipulation platform which allows them to drastically change drug discovery workflows in the pharmaceutical industry. As part of their mission, they are looking to appoint an experienced Physicist to assist in designing and optimising the performance of the microfluidic devices that they develop. Using your strong background in physics or engineering, you will be responsible for improving the devices that underpin the company's core technology while collaborating internally with other research and development teams.

Key Responsibilities:
??? Design microfluidics devices and devise MEMs processes to optimise the performance of said devices
??? Running tests using breadboard instruments
??? Working in a cleanroom environment
??? Generate SOPs, project plans and design records
??? Prepare presentations and reports for audiences inside and outside the company, including clients and collaborators

Your experience:
??? A PhD in Physics or Engineering, or equivalent experience, with a focus on microfabrication
??? A first or upper second class degree in physics, engineering or a closely related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience
??? Experience in the design of fluidic systems, MEMs device and microstructures
??? Experience working with photolithography and coating processes
??? Some experience working with breadboard systems and prototype instruments
??? Excellent problem-solving, team working and communication skills

Desirable but not essential:
??? Experience working with optics, electronics
??? Experience with droplet microfluidics
??? Experience using 3D CAD
