Our client is a well known charity working across the globe. They have a new opportunity to join the team as an Infrastructure Engineer (non traditional skill set required) This role will run the migration to cloud office 365.
Working as part of the Hardware and Systems team and as an escalation point for the Support desk, the
Systems Engineer is responsible for the supporting, maintaining and upgrading on-premises and SaaS
infrastructure and services. The role will also lead key IT projects to update, maintain and implement new technologies, which will help deliver the organisations strategic goals.
Key areas include:
The LAN and WAN network infrastructure hardware and services - Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, FTPS, AzureAD Connect
Network security and firewalls - Dell SonicWall NSA & SMA
- Sophos endpoint
- Sophos Safeguard
- ManageEngine Desktop Central
- SSL Certificate
VMWare estate
Storage infrastructure
Server infrastructure
Office 365 environment (Back end and front end services) - Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft inTune
- Microsoft Exchange 365
- Security & Compliance
Responsible for backup and recovery solution including backup testing
Lead major rollouts of new software and upgrades which may require innovative solutions and
integrations
Technical management of the Microsoft SharePoint Intranet system
Technical management of Nintex workflow, liaising with the wider business on workflow creation
Contribute to the technical roadmap, working with the Hardware and Systems manager and other
business stakeholders to ensure this is aligned with business needs
Ensure that endpoint and network security software/hardware is monitored and maintained
Work with the wider team to ensure systems meet compliance standards for PCI-DSS and Cyber
Essentials
Liaise with external companies/individuals and arrange visits, maintenance call-outs, etc.
