We're hiring for a Machine Operator to join an industry leading distribution company based in Newton Heath. Supplying high quality, specialist goods to an impressive range of companies across the globe, your role will involve operating cutting machines to ensure quality cuts are supplied to the agricultural and construction industries.
What's on offer?
* Starting rate: GBP10.00 per hour
* Hours: 8:00 am - 4:15 pm Monday to Thursday / 8:00 am - 3:30 pm Friday
* 33 days holiday
* Access to external training
* Full-time permanent position
* Onsite parking
What will you be doing as a Machine Operator?
* Operating cranes, forklift trucks and other handling equipment in a safe manner according to the procedures set out by the company
* Setting and operating band saws and automatic cutting machines
* Ensuring all quality standards and procedures are understood and followed
* Packing and labelling the finished products ready for dispatch
What do you need?
* Previous experience working in a workshop/production environment
* Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
* Although the role isn't physically demanding, you must be capable of standing for long periods
* Immediate availability preferred
What's nice to have?
* Previous experience running a bandsaw and knowledge of using an overhead crane
* An understanding of how to use a micrometre, and length measuring equipment
