Research & Development Engineer
Location Information - Nottingham
Salary Negotiable DOE
A local manufacturer is now looking for a Research & Development Engineer to join their team. The company's R&D team are responsible for the development of both products and manufacturing processes and you'll be expected to work on projects from both sides of the business.
The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering Degree preferably with some experience of metallurgy and advanced metallurgical coatings. A good understanding of Microsoft office is essential.
The ideal candidate will be expected to become a subject matter expert (relating to all products passing through R&D) and as such, hold a key position within our Customer Support Group.
The ideal candidate will be a very good communicator at all levels and will be willing to travel abroad on occasion. The ideal candidate will hold a full UK driving licence.
Research & Development Engineer - Key Accountabilities
Manage multiple development projects
Facilitate the manufacture of parts/components, etc.
Liaise with manufacturing to research new machining processes
Manage development partners during and after development projects
Be responsible for our Component Testing Program (Wear, Corrosion & Toughness)
Provide technical support to Sales Team and Customers
Write up all work instructions and quality control procedures relating to new processes
Research & Development Engineer - Qualifications
Holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
