Rate of Pay:
GBP26,500 per annum (on a pro-rata basis: GBP23,188); dependant on experience
Contract Type:
Permanent Contract - immediate start
35 hours per week - shift pattern negotiable

About You
We are currently looking for an experienced and proactive Group Technical Assistant to join us in a newly created role based in Bothwell, Glasgow. This is an exciting time to join the Company during a significant period of change. Our Technical team play a crucial part in our overall operations, as they are integral to maintaining our high standards of food safety and quality across Scotch Frost Group (SFG).
You will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be a natural team player and possess a true commitment to food safety, confident when making decisions, with an appetite for continuous improvement in system development.
Typical Duties / Tasks
To proactively and effectively support the Group Technical Manager with the daily implementation of Food Safety standards across Scotch Frost of Glasgow Ltd. Driving a high level of Food Safety standards, working in partnership with the Operations team on a daily basis to ensure both legal and Regulatory compliance across 3 Depots within SFG:
* Daily reporting of non-conformities to identify root cause and appropriate corrective actions
* Daily monitoring, auditing and verification of traceability and Critical Control Point (CCP) records
* Compliance with all Food Safety and HACCP requirements, ensuring product integrity at all times
* Environmental and product temperature monitoring
* Completion of internal audits
* Identification of trends, whilst proactively seeking improvements and efficiencies within existing processes
* Contribute to the development and implementation of operational improvements
* Conduct investigations following supplier / customer enquiries or complaints
* Liaison with the Procurement team to maintain the company's supply chain standards
* Process Control checks
* Assist with the maintenance and review of the Food Safety Quality Management (FSQM) Systems
* Carry out Induction and process control training with team members across SFG
* Assist with the implementation of a digital Stock Management System
* Provision of information and data to Management as required, inclusive of Report writing
* Ensure adherence to relevant Health & Safety requirements contained within Risk Assessments and standard operating procedures at all times
* Develop and maintain relationships across all functions.
What You'll Need
* At least 1 Years' experience working in a fast-paced food environment
* Food accreditation standards: BRCGS / SALSA or equivalent
* HACCP, Food Safety, Health & Safety and Allergen awareness
* Internal auditing experience
* Demonstrable knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Quality Management Systems
* Training facilitator
* Good influencing and persuading skills, with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships at all levels
* Proactive approach with the ability to react to changing demands and adaptable workload
* Accuracy and attention to detail.
