Policy and Strategy Advisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Policy and Strategy Advisor to play a crucial role in helping transform lives and revitalise neighbourhoods.
Position: Policy and Strategy Advisor
Location: Liverpool, Carlisle or Leicester
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £37,840.98 per annum
Contract: Fixed term until September 2022

The difference you’ll make
As a trusted member of the team, the Policy and Strategy Advisor will ensure the Group has an appropriate suite of group-wide policies, and provide high quality intelligence to colleagues, Board members and external stakeholders to support strategic decision making.
You will maintain the Group’s internal policy framework, ensuring all policies are current and comply with agreed internal standards, as well as overseeing the delivery of policies and strategies.
Regular tasks include:
Developing and writing policies
Regularly reviewing the Group’s external operating environment and disseminating appropriate intelligence to colleagues and board members
Supporting the Group’s Public Affairs Advisor in ensuring external stakeholders understand the Group’s perspective on key housing and regeneration policy issues
So, who are you?
As Policy and Strategy Advisor, you will have a proven track record of policy and strategy development in a housing association or comparable organisation.
You will:
Have a good understanding of how government and public policy impact on housing associations.
Be able to utilise your excellent communication skills to simplify and present complex strategic information.
have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure, delivering to strict deadlines.
Experience in a strategy or policy role would be an advantage, preferably in the housing sector. Strong understanding of and commitment to Equality and Diversity and Corporate Social Responsibility will also make you a good fit for the role.
