Are you looking for a new challenge and have excellent project management skills with a background in teaching or training? Great! Read on to find out about the role of Academy Coordinator at The 2 Minute Foundation.

You will build The 2 Minute Foundation’s Academy model from scratch and hit the ground running. The Academy will be the overarching parent of The 2 Minute Beach School and education arm that includes online resources, expeditions and long-term volunteer training and environmental outreach weekends. You will delve into developing all policies, procedures and risk assessments relevant to the safe running of the Academy and all associated training programmes.

Your teaching or instructing background will enable you to produce lesson plans, schemes, and training modules for all age groups, organise the logistics of running the academy, be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with local training providers and be in control of the budget and procurement.

Your project management and development skills are impeccable with implementation, reporting and adjusting being second nature to you. You’ll search out opportunities for collaboration and certification and report regularly and maintain open communication with the charity’s Campaigns Manager and department leads. As an individual, you are imaginative, creative and make things happen.

You’ll keep records of your trainee’s development and learning journeys and ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times. You will constantly self-evaluate and adjust practices where needed and show passion, enthusiasm and a commitment to helping trainees be their best, providing inspiration through exciting activities whilst promoting the 2 Minute ethos.

You class yourself as an environmentalist and you have a sound understanding of marine litter issues, the current state of UK recycling and general environmental practice. We are changemakers, and you will fit right in.

Essential:

Ability to travel around the UK and spend weekends away
Have a recognised teaching qualification, or significant teaching / instructing experience
Experience with post 16 and adult learning and development
You are an inspiring practitioner with a sound knowledge of child development and learner needs
Passion for the planet
Proficient in leading the delivery of all aspects of teaching and learning
Have strong written and verbal communication skills
Have a proven track record of implementing projects from the ground up
Ability to work under pressure with a ‘get the job done’ attitude
Strong, assertive and polite communication skills
Good with spreadsheets and databases
Very good research techniques
Confident with social media
Experience with project management

Desirable:

Be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding and OFSTED guidelines
Environmental qualification
Water-based skills or qualifications, including lifeguard, snorkel guide etc.

The role is home based, with a day in the office. You are expected to be within driving distance of Bude. Travel will be frequent and necessary, so your own transport is essential.

The position is for 22.5 hours a week and you would need to provide some flexibility to meet with the needs of the charity. There is prospect to extend the contract as The Academy develops.

Hours: 22.5 hrs per week

Rate: £23,868 per annum pro rata
