Full-time Outreach Support Worker
Cambridge Women’s Aid is a local charity working to make a positive change in the lives of women and children escaping domestic abuse. Since 1977, we have supported thousands of women and children to rebuild their lives after abuse and go on to thrive. We provide lifesaving services, including outreach support within the community, and safe accommodation in refuge. As an employer, we offer flexible working arrangements, a supportive work culture, and opportunities for training and development, including studying towards recognised professional qualifications from Women’s Aid England.
We are currently looking for a full-time outreach support worker to join our team in providing practical and emotional support to women affected by domestic abuse.
You will understand the dynamics and impact of domestic abuse and how best to support survivors. Knowledge of help available to survivors of abuse is needed plus the ability to develop supportive relationships with women whilst maintaining strong professional boundaries. This is an enormously rewarding role in which you can make a real difference in women’s lives.
This post is fixed term for a minimum of one year in the first instance. Currently you will work from home, but normally the job is based in Cambridge City with some travel across the county and is paid at NJC pay scale 19-24, £25,481 - £28,672 p.a for a 37 hour week plus a 5% pension contribution. We are open to discussion about flexible hours and/or location where feasible.
