Overview: Covid-19 qPCR Laboratory Technician
Position A:
Salary GBP23K per annum, pro rata + 15% shift allowance
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 16:00 to 12:00
Position B:
Day rate: GBP150.00
Shift Pattern: Saturday 09:00 to 17:00
Responsibilities (general):
- To perform sample reception procedure and qPCR analysis on COVID-19 swabs
- To assist the laboratory manager in all aspects of compliance with all relevant technical and quality standards in accordance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice)
- To perform daily quality checks
Responsibilities (specific):
- Carry out goods received procedures and ensure the correct documentation is in place for all samples received to facilitate accurate and timely processing
- Perform qPCR analysis on COVID-19 swabs (within dedicated containment facility)
- Perform internal quality control (IQC) according to the accredited IQC Procedure and periodic external quality assurance (EQA) as required
- Ensure that all calibration, daily checks and maintenance are performed in line with company procedures and UKAS accreditation
