IT Support Systems Engineer
Our client is an experienced, proactive and flexible IT managed service provider offering Premium IT support, Cloud-Based Services and Commercial IT Consultancy. They operate a Service Desk providing remote IT support to Small and Medium Enterprises across multiple sectors.

Primary responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the role is to provide a mix of Level 1, 2 & 3 support to clients and provide premium industry leading customer service. The role will also provide technical mentoring support to junior colleagues as required.
In addition, the role includes following:
* Providing effective and timely technical support to clients and our internal technical teams.
* Design, plan, and support projects and installations in line with the company methodologies and best working practices.
* To work within a mixed skilled technical team in preparing and supporting client solutions.
* Take responsibility for client technical environments, carrying out scheduled BAU tasks and systems administration.
* To maintain a keen interest of infrastructure installed at client sites needed to provide effective development and high quality support functions.
Preferred skill set
* Must be able to demonstrate a high level of competency and practical experience, particularly in Windows based networks and operating systems.
* Must demonstrate a good understanding of TCP/IP networking principles and concepts.
* Have a good conceptual understanding of storage technology architectures such as SAN and NAS.
* Bachelor's degree, HND or equivalent, in a computing or engineering discipline, with a strong emphasis on information and communications infrastructure.
* Has 4 years' minimum experience in supporting Windows based infrastructures in a mixed Server and Storage IT service environment.

* Confident communicator with the ability to explain complex technical issues in simple terms to clients and engineers alike, either one-to-one or in groups.
* Able to communicate effectively using the written word to non-technical people.
* Ability to work unsupervised, organise own workload, and to prioritise effectively.
* Should have the commitment to see a problem or project through to a successful conclusion.
* Must be a "self-starter" who uses their initiative to seek creative solutions.
Technical credentials
* Has strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows networks and operating systems including Windows Server 2012/16/19 and Windows 10 Pro, a good working knowledge of TCP/IP networking (LAN and WAN), storage and virtualisation technologies supported by vendor accreditations. Example certifications: Microsoft MCP, VMware VCP, Citrix CCP etc.
* Have had a minimum of 4 years infrastructure support experience with responsibility of MS Windows Desktop, Server and Microsoft 365 environments.
* Experience in Cloud based infrastructures (Azure / AWS ), Citrix, and NetApp would be an advantage.
