Manufacturing Engineer, Paisley, GBP22,000 to GBP32,000 Dependent upon experience.
Washbrook Consultants have an excellent opportunity for someone with proven hands on manufacturing engineering experience.
Working on its new and existing product ranges, this role is vital to ensuring products are made in the most effective way possible at the right cost and with the minimum of fuss.
Key Responsibilities
1. Take responsibility for the new and existing manufacturing excellence program.
2. Ensure best practise in relation to production methods, testing, material and part selection
3. Play an active role in the development of new production processes and automation
4. Be responsible for calibration and maintenance of all test & measurement equipment
Key Skills:
• Degree / HND qualification or completion of a recognised apprenticeship.
• Experience in developing, discussing and implementing engineering solutions to technical issues.
• An understanding of engineering principles and processes, particularly in an electromechanical machine environment.
• Experience in leading / participating in process FMEA development.
• Ability to work with solid & 2D cad files & Microsoft software literacy.
• Experience of working on a multiple project platform. • Hands on when required - Proving new production methods and prototype builds.
• Experience in Creating & maintaining clear & concise work instructions.
Desirable Experience:
• Worked in a similar field with experience of developing & implementing production methods
• Experience of introducing automation into existing processes.
• Working knowledge of tool design and manufacture.
• Understanding of LEAN / continuous improvement principles and techniques.
• Strong communication skills as you will be liaising with other internal departments, external organisations, contractors, consultants and other design teams
