Product Design Engineer, Paisley, GBP30,000 to GBP45,000 Dependent upon experience.
Washbrook Consultants are looking for a highly driven and talented Product Design Engineer with deep experience in developing electro-mechanical products to join our clients integrated Development Team of Engineers, Software Developers, Scientists and Designers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Design Engineering of new Cleaning Machines: mechanical engineering, automation design, aesthetic design, integration of all product system elements (motion, sensing, electronic hardware, UI).
Idea generation, concept development, physical prototyping and testing of solutions
Generation of mechanical CAD data (3D modelled in Creo/ Solidworks) and engineering drawings detailed for mass production
Sourcing and liaison with suppliers and manufacturing partners
Test planning, testing and liaison with certification bodies where appropriate.
Desirable:
Finite Element Analysis using software integrated into 3D CAD software
CAD Rendering (with KeyShot or equivalent)
Automation control programming
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:
Strong First-Class Degree in Product Design Engineering/Industrial Design Engineering/Mechanical Design Engineering or equivalent.
5+ years successful commercial experience in at least 2 companies with many examples of electro-mechanical industrial or consumer products you have designed and engineered that demonstrate how you have tackled similar challenges we will need to overcome in the future. This is a hands-on development role, not a management role.
Experienced in 3D CAD (Creo/ Pro-Engineer/ Solidworks or equivalent)
Experienced detailing parts and products for manufacture
Strong drawing/visualisation skills
Driven, curious, collaborative, inventive and tenacious to get the job done and work within a tight knit Development team.
