Buzz is the leading digital brand attached to the award-winning Irish Daily Star and its agenda-setting journalism. The website is now set for a significant relaunch and we're looking for a highly-skilled Deputy Editor with the right attitude to take the site forward.

As Deputy Editor you will help manage a team of reporters, and assist in planning the operational performance of the team that will underpin our content.

What will the role involve?

The role of Deputy Editor comes with a wide range of responsibilities which will include just some of the following:

    Assist in managing a talented team of journalists. Assist in overseeing the planning and execution of content across the teamDeputise for the Editor as requiredHelp to organise and coordinate the news diary including any relevant travel required for staffWork collaboratively with stakeholders from across the company, including Reach Wire.Oversee a team that produces outstanding multi-platform content across a number of different channelsHard-working, self-starter with eye for detail and great story-getter Ability to work to tight and sometimes changing deadlines (e. breaking news coverage)The ability to identify and see the potential in new, emerging stories. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, ensuring both internal and external relationships are built, managed and nurtured effectively.Ability to help inspire, develop a broad teamEnsure all work at all times conforms to Reach PLC policies and procedures
