The primary objective of the Risk Partner, together with the Director of Risk Partnering and Partnering team is to enable the successful execution of the business strategy and priorities, in an effective way balancing sound risk management and proposition development in order to achieve commercial success in line with shareholder expectations.
The Risk Partner is a second line role reporting to the Director of Risk Partnering. This is an integral role to both the Senior Risk Leadership Team, Business and COO Leadership teams, acting as primary interface between second and first line. It will act as an independent advisor to first line and ensure effective management of principal and emerging risks within risk appetite, and as such will require the role holder to challenge and influence Senior Leaders at SLT and ExCo level

You'll be made to feel part of your new team by your Line Manager, Director of Risk Partnering, and colleagues through regular contact and virtual interaction.
What would your day look like?
Strategic Insight and Delivery
Provide risk oversight, challenge, advice and leadership to the Group Senior Leadership Team, to enable them to effectively discharge their Senior Manager and Certification Regime responsibilities.
Support the Director of Risk Partnering in leading delivery of Risk's input to strategy, corporate development and financial planning processes.
Deliver effective second line challenge and input on new propositions, contributing to informed and balanced decision-making on the strategic direction of the Group.
An active and instrumental contributor within both the Business Unit leadership team, responsible for ensuring business development and portfolio performance is controlled within the strategic ambition of being securely managed.
Central in ensuring risk management delivers competitive advantage and acts as an enabler of the Group Blueprint. Engagement
Play an active and visible role in the wider industry providing thought leadership on relevant topics, to relevant forums / networks and implement insights and learnings into the business.
What do we expect of you?
Strong expertise, thought leadership and discipline in respect of risk management, generating confidence and enthusiasm to work towards the Group and Risk function vision, and ability to influence and drive cultural change.
Effective communicator, sharing insight that translates technical concepts into clear and understandable language, listening to and encouraging active collaboration amongst stakeholders.
Ability to build and manage complex relationships across a wide stakeholder community.
Influencing/Networking, showing ability to develop internal and external business relationships and drawing on knowledge, skills and experience to influence others' opinions and actions.
Proven track record of risk management skills and delivery of a first-class business line risk management service.
Ability to think both strategically and tactically to provide expert counsel and recommendations to senior leadership in a strategic, commercial and market context.What can you expect of us?
