Imagine your first holiday after the lockdowns and restrictions have been lifted; sat by the pool with the sun glaring and drinking beer all day. Now imagine doing all of that in an all-inclusive, 5* resort, but only paying a 2*, room only price. The best of both worlds, some might say.
This business can't exactly promise a luxury break abroad with a cracking tan to go with it, but they do provide what you might see as the best of both worlds. With their worldwide, multi GBPbillion group operation backing up the family business in the UK, you'll have that family feel yet the absolute stability and security in your role as the Production Engineering Manager.
Looking after their 3 sites across the UK, you'll be overseeing the Production Engineering function and working closely with the Production and CI team to make sure everything's running smoothly. You'll be the lead on all Capex investments, seeing them through from initial concept to final implementation and will also have the opportunity to identify and suggest recommendations for new Capex investment projects.
By driving Lean & Continuous Improvement, best practice and identifying new opportunities for efficiency improvements whilst also managing maintenance, refurbishment and installation projects, you'll obviously be playing a pivotal part in the business.
The role is cross functional between Production, Engineering and Continuous Improvement and you'll be equally spread across the 3 sites around Manchester, Sheffield and Corby, although you can base yourself at either site depending where you live. If you're like me and love to drive (whilst getting paid), you won't see the travel between sites as a stumbling block, but if you don't, this one probably isn't for you.
Ideally, you'll come from an industrial manufacturing or O&G sort of background with management experience, but that's not essential at this point in time. Initially, I see the salary falling at around GBP40k with the potential for a car allowance or company car
