Firmware Engineer - West Sussex

The Role
The successful candidate will create, maintain and problem solve the Embedded Firmware and supporting software required to ensure that products provide best in class performance within the market segments they operate in. Whilst the main responsibility is to work with other engineers in the team to launch products in line with an aggressive project timeline, the successful candidate will also need to support current products when component obsolescence/ updates result in Firmware modifications to existing items.
?? Firmware development and programming of microprocessors in C
?? New Product Development and introduction projects.
?? Responsible for product technical content.
?? Support/improvement of current product range including engineering changes (sustaining products).
?? Customer interfacing at high technical levels to understand needs and opportunities.
The Candidate
?? Education: Degree in relevant (Physics/Electronic/Microelectronics/Computing Engineering) discipline and substantial technical background.
?? Experience working in instrumentation development.
?? Embedded firmware development using C, C++ and assembler.
?? Experience with Microchip PIC family of processors.
?? Experience using various communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, UDP/IP etc.)
?? Troubleshooting, Problem Solving and analytical skills.
?? Strong communicator.
?? Capable of working within a multi-disciplined team and managing projects under time constraints
