We are seeking a Psychology tutor to work as part of our Access to HE team. The course starts in September 2021 and is delivered over an academic year (34 wks). We are seeking a tutor for 1 day to deliver at our Bude Adult Education Centre.

The successful candidate must be comfortable teaching all aspects of Psychology in line with Health and Social care / Social Science requirements at Level 3. Candidates must be able to effectively plan and deliver (teach) high-quality learning opportunities to groups of adults and young people on our Access to HE Health and Social Care and Social Science Courses (Level 3), ensuring maximum retention of learners and achievement of qualifications/ learning goals. The tutor will be required to plan, deliver and assess students' progress, track learning, monitor and encourage development and set targets.

Cornwall Adult Education is a major provider of learning opportunities for adults across Cornwall. It’s mission is to provide affordable part-time community based adult learning opportunities to assist adults to achieve their full potential. It aims to contribute to social inclusion, stimulate economic development, widen participation in learning and promote a culture of lifelong learning by providing a learning programme which enables adults in Cornwall to develop their skills, knowledge, judgement, interests and creativity, according to their particular needs. The Service is funded primarily by the Skills Funding Agency and is governed by a Board of Governors.

You should be competent in teaching and supporting at Level 3. Candidates should hold:

• a Degree or substantial subject knowledge – qualification in subject specialism at least one level higher than the level teaching and

• a Teaching Qualification

• English and Maths qualifications at level 2

All Adult Education Tutor posts are offered on a casual basis and the commencement of the employment is subject to sufficient enrolments for the course to run.
