Purpose of the role:
A well-known and established Northampton bar is offering an exciting opportunity for a General Manager to take hold of the reigns and help drive the business forward. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in servicing large numbers quickly and efficiently, whilst organising and developing a team to fit the ethos and culture of the business. You will have autonomy to create new menu ideas, plan and implement memorable functions and events for the varied and expanding clients this business caters for.
Key Requirements:
Previous General Management level experience necessary within a pub/bar environment.
Personal License holder is a necessity.
Ability to cope well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent knowledge of food and beverages.
Good business acumen, strong financial knowledge and experience
Lead from the front, setting the standard for your colleagues to follow.
Responsibilities:
Planning and ensuring the business runs smoothly whilst delivering the highest standard of service.
Responsible for all hiring, scheduling, training, managing and recognition of staff.
Hands on approach managing every aspect of the daily operation.
Managing and coordinating events as and when required.
Working with the Head Chef to implement varied menus i.e. seasonal and themed.
Continuously looking to improve the drinks offering and follow current trends.
Cellar Management.
GPs, wage costs, P&L, all aspects of operation will fall under your responsibilities.
All aspects of stock control and ordering.
Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Licensing.
Promoting, Advertising and Social Media management.
Maintain great customer and supplier relationships.
Seek innovative ways to drive trade.
Hours of Work:
Typically working week is 5 out of 7 days.
Trading hours - Thursday and Sunday until 11pm and Friday and Saturday until 1am.
