Elevation Recruitment Group are exclusively partnered with a highly regulated, manufacturing business who are seeking a Quality Engineer to further strengthen their UK operations. An AS9100 accredited business, this role will support the Quality Manager in the day-to-day running of the quality function at their 150 head manufacturing site.

Supplying almost solely to OEM's, this is an exciting opportunity to work with a business that has great existing relationships with its client base and very few complaints. Many of their clients are heavily involved in the design process and there is a positive culture across the business that is driven from the top down.

The business put people first, provide a calm, considered environment to work in and will always look to further develop skillsets/qualifications. Throughout the pandemic, they have made no redundancies and their order book has bounced back making it an ideal time to join.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

- To act as the main representative of the quality department to internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers on a day-to-day basis
- Responsible for all customer issues and returns, from initial customer contact through to a timely resolution for the customer
- Leading and facilitating the corrective and preventive action processes to ensure they are effectively identifying the root cause of issues; implementing robust corrective/preventive actions and problem resolution is permanent
- Analysis of customer issues and trends to identify opportunities for improvement
- Responsible for organising the completion of the agreed internal audit schedule for the site, ensuring all internal audits are carried out on time
- Responsible for ensuring all actions identified during internal audits are allocated and completed within a timely manner
- Responsible for ensuring suppliers are performing well and where issues occur that Supplier Corrective Actions are robust enough to prevent further risk to the business
- Working with suppliers to help them understand our requirements and quality standards
- Management and completion of FAI Report for customer in line with the requirements of AS9102
- Issuing and managing concessions and production permits
- Authorisation of Initial Sample Inspection Report for new components for use in production
- Ensure scrap is dispositioned, recorded, and reported at defined intervals
- Analysis of scrap and trends to identify opportunities for improvement
- Provide quality input in design and processes reviews, to ensure products can be manufactured right first time whilst instilling a no-fault forward ethos into the business
- Serve as a change agent and implement measures that improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality and/or efficiency
- Work with staff and co-workers to utilize quality improvement methods of assessment, planning, implementation, and validation
- Assist in the development of written policies and procedures essential to the administration and operation of the Quality Management System. This includes timely updates as changes in Quality standards dictate
- Devise sampling procedures and implement systems for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data
- Maintain routine data collection, entry, and reporting to defined criteria to assure product and process conformance that can be used to identify risks and drive down the Cost of Poor Quality to the business
- To assist with all third-party audits, including certification surveillance and renewal audits as well as any customer audits

I'm keen to speak to individuals with the following skillset:

- Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment working within a quality function
- Working knowledge of AS9100 or similar standards preferred but not essential
- Experience of preparing ISIR/FAIR/PPAP documents
- Must have working knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems, Product Realisation Systems, problem solving methodologies
- Demonstrable superior written and verbal communication skills both internally and externally to customers and suppliers
- Ability to utilise statistical analysis techniques using Microsoft platforms such as excel as well as other software packages
- Aptitude to work proactively and confidently without close supervision
- Ability to interface and work well with all levels of management personnel and across/down functional lines
