Role: R&D Manager - Continental Europe
Reporting to: Senior R&D Manager
Location: Based in Oxfordshire with frequent travel across the UK and Europe
Field: Food Technology/Food Manufacturing/Engineering/Manufacturing
Working Hours: 35 hours per week (Mon - Fri)
Salary: GBP42,000 - GBP52,000 dependant on experience

A leading global food manufacturer operating in over 50 countries are looking to appoint a R&D Manager.
The successful post holder will have the benefits of working for an organisation utilising the latest technologies and recognised as a world class operation!
The role:
You will be responsible for the advancements of food technologies and utilise your skills and experience to further grow the products and services offer across Continental Europe. The role will be split across developing relationships with the European sales team as well as undertake the management, leadership and development of staff.
Responsibilities:
* Line manage, train and develop staff which include; Principle Food Scientists, Senior Technologists, Technologists and Placement Students.
* Overseeing the planning, coordination and direction of activities relating to the organisations strategic objectives.
* Be the subject matter expert and provide technical input and support to Purchasing, Operations, Quality and other internal departments.
* Project manage multiple products including new product development as well as existing products or services.
* Work closely with the European sales and marketing team to ensure ongoing business needs are met.
* Identify market trends and provide insightful analysis of the European food market.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Oversee R&D products to ensure that they conform to industry standards.
* Involved in internal and external audits and ensuring industry quality standards are met.
Requirements:
* Degree qualified in Food Science, Culinary Science, Food Chemistry or equivalent.
* Extensive experience within the food manufacturing industry.
* As this role requires a great deal interaction with customers and internal teams in France, the successful post holder will be required to be fluent in English and French. If you speak any other languages this would be advantageous.
* Familiar with IT software and applications such as AS400, Lotus Notes and MS Office.
* Excellent project management and leadership skills.
* Full UK Driving License.
* This position requires flexibility as national and international travel will be required.
