About our Client
Our client was established nearly 50 years ago and grow plants on over 100 acres. They supply top quality plants to garden centres, DIY chains and supermarkets. Our client has industry-leading facilities at their site, designed to use the latest technology. They pride themselves in putting an emphasis on ensuring environmentally conscious production and dispatch.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of growing high-quality roses. As this is a new venture for the business, you will have the responsibility for the overall operation. Crop walking, monitoring for pests and diseases, spraying, and irrigation. Record keeping and general crop husbandry will also fall into your remit. You will be leading a small team, and ensuring the team are motivated and are working effectively. You will also be happy to support the business in growing other crops when required, including bedding and perennials.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have previous experience in growing roses and be confident in all aspects of this, from taking cuttings, to harvesting. Ideally, you will have experience in managing a team, or be looking to take a step up to do this. A qualification in horticulture, PA1 and PA6 are also desirable.
