Production Operator - Shildon

Our client, a global manufacturer of specialist paints, coatings and materials which their customers have trusted for more than 130 years, are seeking experienced production operators to join the team.
With headquarters in USA, they operate and innovate in more than 70 countries, serving customers in construction, consumer products, industrial and transportation markets and aftermarkets.

We are looking for staff in the warehouse operatives and production operatives to work either 09:00 to 17:00 or on shift patterns 6/2 or 2/10 with the option for 6/2 (nights as well). Rate of pay on shifts is GBP11.06 and after 12 weeks this rises to GBP13.17.

Full time work and long term options with the opportunity to go permanent.

Duties

- Machine Operating
- Completion of documentation
- Using a PC
- Manufacturing & Filling of Production Batches
- First line operator maintenance
- Maintaining and improving 5s standards and housekeeping
- Participating in lean initiatives, both within the department and in other areas of the business
- Willing to learn and train in other departments as and when demand dictates
- Quality Testing
- Liaise with other departments as and when required
- Flexibility to work on any task or in any department, where relevant training is provided
- Dispensing, filling, spraying to sample and colour matching to standard of paint products
- KPIs Daily Control
Requirements

- Basic PC Skills/IT literacy
- Good Communication skills, both verbal and written
- Previous experience in a production related environment is essential
- Excellent attention to detail and the confidence to contribute in all aspects of problem solving
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and to strict deadlines
- Product and Process knowledge is be beneficial
- Willing to participate in improvement activities
- Experience in lean techniques is advantageous.
- Must be fully flexible to work a 3 shift rotation 6-2/2-10/10-6
