GBR Recruitment are working in partnership with an expanding & leading manufacturing company recruiting for an experienced Craft Engineering Technician / Craft Engineer with both Electrical & Mechanical skills, time served in a comparable role within a fast paced manufacturing environment ideally producing wood products such as doors, kitchen cupboards, kitchen worktops, bedroom cupboard doors / units, timber framed gazebos or sheds, laminate flooring or anything similar to that going through a heat cured process.

Overview of the Craft Engineering role:
The main focus of the role is to minimise breakdown time on all site machinery and equipment, achievable through preventative maintenance completion (PPM's), a proactive and reactive approach, as well as combining a can do attitude with experience. During equipment uptime your resource will be utilised on improvement projects to further support the maintenance department and teams.
Duties to include:
* Carrying out Electrical & Mechanical repairs for breakdowns as and when they arise, whilst complying with all Company Procedures including Health & Safety procedures, Directives and department P.P.E. requirements.
* Follow SSOW to the letter, regardless of urgency (safety first mind-set)
* Completing PPM schedules on existing equipment.
* Successfully uploading jobs completed onto the CMMS system for traceability / stock accuracy.
* Obtaining and maintaining inventory of spares as used.
* Maintenance of our biomass boiler system including some cleaning procedures.
* Working with Compressed air safety, generation and use.
* Ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
* Maintaining work area ensuring team works in a tidy hazard free environment.
* Reporting accidents, incidents and near misses to Team Leader.
* To perform other such duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the role and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.
Desired skills & experience:
* A time served Qualified Engineer with a proven background in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
* Experienced in woodworking production environments. (Homag, Schelling, IMA, Holzher Equipment knowledge would be advantageous)
* Able to report out daily shift repairs / PPM's unsupervised.
* 17th or 18th edition wiring regulations
* Experience with ERP systems, CMMS - Agility (training provided on our systems)
* PLC knowledge - Omron, Allen Bradley, Siemens.
* Forklift license / licences beneficial but not a must have
